To be granted the right to use the Demeter logo, the farmer or the grower must agree to farm within the published standards, to have the farm inspected, to supply regular reports, and to pay the cost of the Scheme.
Inspections happen at least once a year, and the inspector has with him the farmer’s own report of all farming practises. The inspector’s report and the farmer’s own report are used to decide whether a licence can be granted.
